If you are taking your washing machine with you to your new home, you will need to disconnect it before you are able to move it. However, it is crucial that you turn off the water before you disconnect it! Where the washer is connected to the wall, there should be a couple of valves for you to turn to shut the water off. If you do not do this prior to the disconnection, you will have water all over your floor, which will add even more chaos to your moving day.
